We are pleased to meet you on the third issue of the METU insider, Kampüs. Starting from this issue, we will be introducing the administrative units that provide service especially for our students. In this issue, you can hear about the "Office for Promoting Gender Equality and Preventing Sexual Harassment" and "Career Planning, Application and Research Center". In the science columns, you can read the article entitled as "At the Coalface: Design, Technology, Cooperation and Gender" by Dr. Pınar Kaygan from the Department of Industrial Design and know about the NEOGENE study of Assoc.Prof. Mehmet Somel from the Department of Biological Sciences, who has brought the single ERC project to our country this year. In the News from METU, we strongly recommend you to read the article about the Institute of Marine Sciences, which has been leading METU's marine research efforts for 40 years. On the "Campus 101" page, you can find interesting facts about the dormitories built with donations and read about Lake Eymir, where swimming contests were organized in the past, on the "Once Upon a Time" page. In the "METU Memories" column, we present our Aga Khan award-winning campus architect Behruz Çinici from his own voice recorded while he was strolling around the campus in 2003. As we do in every issue, we warmly welcome our new faculty members and keep on introducing student clubs/societies in this issue, as well.
