The project "I Know and Protect My Sea" organized by the Graduate School of Marine Sciences to raise environmental awareness in school-age children and to guide them in their protection of nature left five years behind. Within the scope of the project organized based on a volunteer basis by the academic and administrative staff working in the Graduate School, children from all age groups, from preschool to secondary school, learn about the marine ecosystem and how important it is to protect the ecosystem through fun activities. Initiated by the METU Graduate School of Marine Sciences, the program "I Know and Protect My Sea" was adopted by the graduate schools of other universities in recent years, allowing similar practices.
